Like any other A.A. service, the primary purpose of those involved in archival work is to carry the message of Alcoholics Anonymous. Archives service work is more than mere custodial activity, it is the means by which we collect, preserve and share the rich and meaningful heritage of our fellowship. It is by the collection and sharing of these important historical elements that our collective gratitude for Alcoholics Anonymous is deepened.

Please remember the District 1 Archives Committee is available for displays at your Holiday or Anniversary Meetings. Keep in mind these Archives belong to YOU and to all of the members of Pinellas County AA.  When we bring the display, you have a wonderful opportunity for learning the beginnings of AA and teaching your newer members how we have grown.

We are happy to give an historical talk or just a display for free and for fun!

Archives Committee is also looking for committee members. There are several ways you can be of service, interviewing long-timers, helping with displays, etc.

Please contact the District 1 Archives Chair at district1archives@gmail.com or Central Office at (727) 530-0415 or centraloffice@aapinellas.org if you would like to volunteer or if your group would like an archives display.

Public Information / Cooperation with the
Professional Community (PI/CPC) Committee

Last Monday of each month
6:00 to 7:00 pm

Central Office
8340 Ulmerton Road, Suite 220
Largo
Dist1PI-CPC@aapinellas.org

If you are interested in being a part of this committee, please come join us at our monthly meeting. Also suggest your home group elect a "Public Information Representative" and encourage them to get involved with us. You and your group can be of real service to help us carry the message to the alcoholic who does not know who we are, or that we even exist.

Most groups realize that the alcoholic can't come to AA for help unless they know where we are........

The committee communicates with professionals in Health Care, Law enforcement, Treatment, Corrections, Human Resources, Counseling, Sociology, Ministry, Education, Communications, & Judicial Systems.  It cooperates, without affiliation, with those seeking to help the active alcoholic.  It provides support and resources to AA Members seeking to educate Professionals with whom they have contact.

District Quarterly Report - March 12th - Since our last District Quarterly the Grapevine Committee has had our monthly meeting on the 2nd Saturday of each month at our Central Office conference room. Attendance is starting to pick up. We still discuss our primary mission of increasing Grapevine awareness, boosting sales and recycling old Grapevines and that seems to be picking up also.

The results of our Grapevine survey are back; however, it's way beyond my mental capabilities to figure out what it says. Luckily, our Grapevine Secretary has that capability and I've  turned that over to her at our meeting this afternoon. She should be able to decipher it in a reasonable amount of time and we'll get it out as soon as we can.

All of our representatives are doing their best to increase Grapevine awareness and in my humble opinion, are doing a great job. Don't forget to drop off your old Grapevines with your group's Grapevine rep. Remember - let's all do what we can to save the magazine that has saved so many of us.

In love and service,
The District 1 Grapevine Committee
